PACIFIC HEIGHTS FILL IN

san francisco, ca.

2020

Residential work in San Francisco neighborhoods is always a negotiated effort. Zero side-setback lots are the norm and those that exist with setback space are opportunity to reconfigure both inside and outside conditions. This modest residential project carefully negotiates continued access from the street direct to the rear yard; a space that was designed by the late landscape architect Thomas Church

The infill includes added bedroom, renewed kitchen and dining room spaces while maintaining generous access to light and air between the tightly packed, late 19th century homes
