A private San Francisco residence completely transformed. The connecting stair from 2nd to 3rd floors was highly important to the owners as an experiential part of the home. Our challenge was to create an object of visibility yet integrally connected to the open living area

The stair is suspended with 1/2” laser cut steel stinger plates which are pinned at the top and bottom of the frame chassis. The steel frame is wrapped in custom wood matching floors throughout the residence. The stair appears weightless, an extrusion of the floor and suspended alongside pristine white walls. A 3/4" glass wall provides visibility as well as barrier
